Of the 12 top exits by Italian startups in recent years, 11 were acquired by foreign companies, or by IPO (initial public offering) on foreign stock markets. Only one has remained in Italy, the Milanese startup Triboo, quoted on Milan’s stock market in 2014. The total value of the acquisitions is almost 2.5 billion euros. The majority of this capital comes from the United States and the United Kingdom (with Ireland and Russia following).
